Fort Collins Restaurant Reviews
Snooze A Fort Collins Eatery
Last Sunday morning we ventured out for breakfast in Old Town to the new to Fort Collins restaurant named Snooze. The restaurant has been open for a month or more and is located on west mountain avenue 1/2 block from college on the north side of the street.
The inside of the building was completely re-decorated in 1950-60 decor. This may not be official but that is what I am calling it. I was around then and the booths and tables are what most would call art deco. I personally think it was very well done. I especially like the counter (bar, they do serve drinks). I also like the coat hangers which I doubt will be used (we do not dig coat hangers anymore). They are in the shape of jacks. If you do not know what a jack is it was a very popular game when I was growing up (circa 1946 to 1960) Jacks was the girls game and marbles for boys of that era. I digress sorry.
The first thing I noticed was the service. The wait staff really takes the time to explain the menu. I cannot remember enough to repeat it all but things like rhubarb and strawberry pancake syrup stood out. Many of their dishes seemed original to me. Something you do not find in other Fort Collins establishments. Service is good almost everywhere in Fort Collins but Snooze’s people seem to put a little extra into it.
The food was tasty and both of us liked what we had very much. The restaurant is popular already and we were told we would have to wait for 45 minutes but it ended up being only 25 minutes. Also, they have during nice weather chairs outside to sit on and free coffee to drink while you wait. My guess is the longer lines are only on weekends and are found at most every breakfast establishment in Fort Collins. We are an eating out bunch in this town.
All in all a very good experience I give it lots of stars.
