 Art District on Santa Fe Denver This multicultural neighborhood, just minutes from downtown, features the largest concentration of art galleries in Denver. The galleries in the district are dedicated to promoting public awareness of Santa Fe Drive as a unique art and cultural district, and furthering the arts and art education in the Denver metropolitan community.   Link

 Butterfly Pavilion   At the Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, they have more adventures than you can imagine. Explore the tropical rainforest where over 1,200 butterflies flutter around you. Hold a friendly tarantula in the palm of your hand. Discover what lurks in your very own backyard on a colossal scale. It's where science, fun and education come together. Link

 Denver Ocean Journey Aquarium  This world-class aquarium immerses visitors on two journeys, from the Continental Divide in Colorado to Mexico's Sea of Cortez, the other from an Indonesian rain forest to the Pacific Ocean. From Colorado's state fish, the greenback cutthroat trout, to swimming Sumatran tigers, visitors experience a variety of fish, mammals and birds that all rely upon water.  Link

 Denver Botanic Gardens  Denver Botanic Gardens has been a favorite Denver destination for 50 years. Art and science unite in the gardens’ spectacular 23-acre site, offering an unforgettable experience for the whole family, as well as a living laboratory for education and plant conservation programs. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended summer hours. Link

 Six Flags Elitch Gardens Denver. About one hour from Ft Collins.The park states they are full of world class thrills and adventure. They get a thumbs up from my kids and grandkids. The park features more than 50 rides, shows and attractions. They also have a tropical water park. Link

 Forney Museum of Transportation. 4303 Brighton Blvd Denver. Anything on wheels. Many unique exhibits. Attraction is about a 45 minute drive south of Ft Collins. Link.

 Golden Triangle Arts District Within walking distance of downtown Denver this unique neighborhood is Denver’s center for art & culture. The area includes the Denver Art Museum, Denver Public Library, U.S. Mint, Colorado History Museum, Byers-Evans House, the Colorado Ballet, Ballet Arts Theatre, Acoma Center & Curious Theatre Company & over 50 galleries, artist’s studios, fine restaurants & specialty stores.  Link

 Lakside Amusement Park One of Colorado's largest amusement parks fifteen kiddie rides, 39 adult rides includes a classic wooden coaster and miniature train. Link
 Larimer Square Denver’s urban shopping and dining district. Victorian buildings, house specialty boutiques and unique chef-driven restaurants. Shop one-of-a-kind stores with distinctive fashion and exclusive offerings. Special events and a vibrant atmosphere year-round. Shops open: Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday 10a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday noon to 5p.m. Link
 LoDo Lower Downtown, or "LoDo" as it is affectionately known, is a thriving, mixed-use neighborhood of 25 square blocks located in Denver's premier historic district. The area is home to more than 20 art galleries, nearly 100 restaurants and clubs, dozens of professional, service and retail businesses, and approximately 1,000 residential units (mostly lofts).  Molly Brown House Home of the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown, Titanic heroine, restored to its original Victorian splendor. All tours are guided and last 45 minutes. Group tours by reservation only; walk-ins welcome. Available for private events. Open Tues.-Sat. at 10 a.m.; Sun. at Noon; Open 7 days a week in June, July and August. Last tour begins at 3:30 p.m. A property of Historic Denver, Inc.  Link

 Ski Train Winter and Summer schedules. Train leaves from Union Station in Downtown Denver and travels the historic Moffett Tunnel route to Winter Park Ski Area on the western slope of the Rockies. This is a truly scenic ride and fun for adults and children alike. Link 

 US Mint  Mint Gift Shop: Open Mon-Fri from 8:00 am to 3:30PM. The store is located directly adjacent to the Mint Tour Entrance, on Cherokee Street. The Mint does not provide parking. However, there are commercial lots in the area and metered parking on the streets. There are no restaurants on the premises. Tours of students and youth groups (grades kindergarten through 12), and organized military and veteran groups may be arranged through the Office of Exhibits and Public Services at the Denver Mint at (303) 405-4755, by appointment only. Tours for students, youth groups, scouts, seniors, military, veteran and other organized groups may be arranged directly through the Public Affairs Office at the United States Mint at Denver at (303) 405-4759. Three weeks advance notice is required for scheduling and security clearances. For spring and summer tour requests, eight weeks, or more advance notice is recommended. Visitors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Link 

Venice on the Creek  Float along downtown Denver's historic Cherry Creek in one of the only punts (similar to a gondola) in the country. Open June - August.   Link.

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum An extensive of collection of aircraft and related aviation and military exhibits preserving the history of the service men and women who served at Lowry AFB. 31 aircraft on display. Hours: M-Sat 10am-5pm and Sunday 12pm-5pm. Group rates and tours available. Main event space is 44,000 sq ft surrounded by a restored collection of historical aircraft and historical exhibit rooms.
